Zimbabwe will "definitely" play the second Test against Pakistan, putting to bed all fears of a boycott. Hamilton Masakadza, the team's stand-in captain, confirmed the squad will take the field on Tuesday for what could be their last Test of 2013, with October's Sri Lanka visit is set to be postponed. ESPNcricinfo has learnt that the players received some outstanding payments on Friday, though the specifics are as yet unknown.
The players' union has been threatening to boycott during the Pakistan series since it began three weeks ago, but have not followed through with any of its ultimatums thus far. Their recent confirmation that the second Test will take place as planned will ensure the series is not disrupted at all, despite the worry that it may have been.
